Hanady’s grandmother Aida and grandfather Mahrous lived in the village of Bekaa’ Lebanon with 9 children. As a family Aida, Hanady’s Grandmother and her children taught them to cut clothing to help their father. At the age of 17, Hanady’s mother Laudy taught herself how to sew from borrowed fashion magazines from her family to start making her own clothing for school and work as a teacher. In 1986, Laudy married Anwar and had 4 girls and 1 boy including Hanady. Her interest in fashion continued as she was making unique clothing for her children. She took it apron herself to pass on the skills and knowledge to her children.

While living in Lebanon, Handy found designing and sewing her favourite hobby at 14 years old. She would take old clothing from her mother and turn them into new ones to wear for years. Later on, she went to university and graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Biology then moved to Canada in 2013. The first thing she bought was a sewing machine, fabric and thread. While coping with a new environment and life in Canada, fashion design was an outlet for Hanady to use and continue her passion.

Today, Hanady participates in many fashion shows and events showing her work over the years. She started her business and now continues to provide alteration and design services.
